Regarding your concern, please let us thank you for notifying us about this issue and assure you we have taken all the measures needed to correct this problem. The specific widgets have been removed from our website and are no longer accessible to the visitors, as we did indeed find malicious content inside their code. In order to further clarify this situation, please note that Widgipedia is not responsible for the content uploaded by its users; we do check any new uploaded file with up to date antivirus solutions, and it often happens that we block content or even deny user access because of such problems. However we cannot always be 100% sure that all the content is legitimate, even with such precautions, like it happened in this case, unfortunately.
WE STILL GET THE WARNING FROM NORTON. HOPEFULLY THIS WILL STOP SOON IF THE PROBLEM HAS ACTUALLY BEEN FIXED.

HERE'S A COPY OF OUR LATEST ATTEMP TO GET WIDGIPEDIA TO REMEDY THE VIRUS PROBLEM
My third email. I haven't gotten a response to my previous emails. This will be my final request to have you remedy the problem with viruses on Widgipedia.
As I've reported twice, the Widgipedia site has viruses and when you access the site, Norton Site Security indicates that the Widgipedia site is UNSAFE and that certain pages are infected with trojan style viruses. It's becoming increasingly difficult to link visitors from our website to Widgipedia knowing that they'll discover we've directed them to a virus infected site. The worst part of the problem appears to be your inability to correct this problem, or much worse, your disregard considering I've emailed you twice before to report the problem and haven't received a response.
If you can't or refuse to remedy the problem soon, I;ll be deleting my widget and directing all visitors to WidgetBox, a safe and much more professional site for widget developers and users.
For the last time, this is the report that Norton provides indicating viruses on Widgipedia.

Now that it appears that we've disinfected many of the cockroaches from the pantry, let's set the facts straight;
1. Longshot Radio just went through an agonizing week of unexpected failures resulting from adjustments required by our switching to a high bandwidth server. The widget needed to re re-uploaded twice which likely created some frustration with our current users.
2. The new Longshot Radio code provides access to a much improved widget that runs flawlessly with no glitching or buffering delays whatsoever. You can run the player all day without any problems.
3. The high bandwidth switch was required because soon, we'll have more than 24 hours of excellent streaming music for our users to enjoy.
4. The code we provide here on Widgipedia is a standard html version of the code. It works just fine but most users follow our instructions and use the link to our website before they install the code. Once there, we offer a much better I-Frame version of the code (absolutley free) and there are over 250 users currently employing this advanced installation method.
5. The website link also provides users with complete operating instructions, installation instructions and they can monitor playlist update scheduling.
6. We even offer a link-to-our-website installation method that requires no code whatsoever and about 300 users currently use this method.
7. Longshot Radio is NOT for kids. There's no rap, hip-hop or top-40 hits on this player; only the finest musicians performing progressive rock, heavy metal, classic, indie and alternative rock and the artists are selected by talent, not popularity. NOT FOR EVERYONE BUT IDEAL FOR TALENTED, EXPERIENCED and INTELLECTUAL MUSICIANS PLUS SAVVY ROCK MUSIC FANS.
We urge everyone to select the "Get widget" button, select the DHTML option and listen to the music while you try some of the sophisticated operating features. Then, by all means write a comment so we can continue to improve the widget FOR SERIOUS USERS.
Oh, and the ratings...it's quite obvious that they don't mean anything since the vast majority are entered to reflect poor ratings (not just on this page) by other "jealous" and childish developers here on Widgipedia.

We're not in control of who rates the widget and you don't need to download the widget to rate it. We're convinced that many developers tamper the ratings of other peoples widgets in an effort to promote their own "less desireable" widgets and 200 ratings from almost 1,700 views doesn't seem unusual. Over the past few weeks we've needed to upload revised versions of the widget code twice so many of the many recent ratings were poor indicating the widget wasn't functioning correctly. We're simply providing a free music widget, no ads or links and we could care less how many people rate the widget. The widget speaks for itself regardless of ratings by childish individuals and we're certain intelligent people realize this. If you don't like the widget, don't download it but you have no business commenting unless you are a user and offering your true opinion on the widget. The recent complaints on tampering with ratings is ridiculous, although amusing. Some people must have nothing better to do with their time. However, the grammatical inaccuracies always make good reading. TRY THIS WIDGET FIRST - THEN MAKE A COMMENT.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE - switching to HIGH BANDWIDTH required some subtle changes to the Longshot Radio code. You will need to copy and paste the NEW CODE in order to get the widget to function correctly. We sincerely appologize for any inconvenience this may cause but the change to the code was a regretable necessity. The new player works flawlessly using HIGH BANDWIDTH so the improvement was well worth the interupted service.

Hey Johnny cool down. Just recently re-posted the widget so the downloads are the new version but the ratings are from both. I used the comments for update messages to users. I rate it 5 because it's worth it. Get a life, it's only widgets.
