I do hope you like this Steampunk Rotating Earth Globe Widget. This Konfabulator/ yahoo widget provides a simple rotating globe that can rotate at two speeds. The animation comes from thirty six medium resolution images, played one after the other, frame by frame giving a simulation of the rotating earth.
Shown above layered on top my orrery widget, just making changes to that too so that it will incorporate the spinning earth function by default.
The widget needs to have the Konfabulator/Yahoo Widget engine which you can get here (windows): http://desktopwidgets.zenfs.com/4.5.2x10a50/ywidgets_sdk_setup.exe

This widget works with Windows XP SP3 and has been tested on Vista, Windows 7 and Mac OS/X.
