messageDesktop Widget Tutorial
Hi all and thanks for all the info!!!
I want to develop a standalone desktop widget that will be operating on Windows.
But I don't want to add any widget engine to do so, just a .exe file that can be executed from any Windows Machine.
Is there any tutorial on this.
Thanks a lot

I'm using Flash to do these sort of widgets.
When I have my flash movie ready, I use MDM Zinc to create exe files.

that's one option...

All right, but do you need a flash player installed on your computer to make it work or is it really standalone (I mean that the flash player is included in the .exe file)

What programming code did you use to build the simple clock? I want to start building stand-alone widgets, but need some direction... code samples, etc....

torkhum, I use Macromedia Flash 8 (now Adobe Flash CS3),
there is a tutorial on how to build an analogue clock on this link.

galaad1982, the exe files created with MDM Zinc include the Flash Player (that's why they are a bit big...) so they are standalone. Remember there are two different Flash Player, one is the browsers plug-in and another one is the standalone Flash Player that comes with your Flash, Flex or even Freehand...
