Mac Widget with image and text from a database internet site
Ok. I know this one might be complicated... And to me it seems a LOT!!!
Maybe because it would be my first Widget? And maybe because I am looking to do something complicated...
Let me explain. I would like to create a Mac Dashboard widget (for now, maybe in future for other platforms as well).
The widget should:
- have an image
- have a text description
- have a "go to" button
Now things get messy...
The image, the text should come from a listing of real estate at a given URL. We have an international site, with lots of listings, and I would like the widget to randomly (every minute or so) fetch a listing and a text of one of our homes.
the URL is: www.engelvoelkers.com
I would like the widget to show the title image of a listing, part of the text and then, if one clicks the "go to" button, the whole listing on the internet.
I hope it is feasable at all...
I cannot change the site in any way, because it does not depend on me (unfortunately). So this means no RSS of images or text, and no "fixed URL" in which somebody changes the listing.
As an alternative (hope someone is still reading at this point without thinking I am crazy), I would like the Widget to show the picture and the description that appear on the top right of our office's URL: www.engelvoelkers.com/lugano
This might be much easier. I will then have the ability to change the listing from there and it would appear in all widgets. (including the small text, wich I already cut, and the link to the whole listing).
Either from the whole database of the company or, as an alternative, just create a Mac dashboard widget with the top right listing of our subdomain (www.engelvoelkers.com/lugano).
Please reply with email as well, because I cannot read this forum to often.
I have the widget editor, so you can send also partial examples, and I can send what I did up to know.
