My name is Alina. I am working for a software company.
It is the first project of that kind and it is pretty hard for me.

We currently working on the development of commercial software package
allows to create widgets from flash application. www.widget-builder.com

Sure the first question that I had was: "Do you need creation of dekstop widgets to be simpler?"

I would say yes. I tried hand at making desktop widgets. It was difficult, because I have no much programming skills.
In my opinion, creating widgets from flash application without coding is easier.

How about you?

Have you ever tried to create desktop widgets from flash?
I think you have more experience of working with these programs, and if you could help me it would be great!

What do you think about this software?
Can you suggest something to increase value of this software?
What features you would like to see?

...after Apple release safari 3, embeded Flash/swf are very buged now ! Embeded with iFrame, the flash/swf content get very "funny", it works unreliable and you loose the ~widget(openurl) task, no opening im Web Browser ! it take a lot scripting with java to make things work ! I would not advise to use any flash content in any OSX Dashboard/Yahoo! Widgets ! Yahoo!Widget don't support it ! But Web Widgets are Web based, that's fine, no problem with that !

You think that flash is not the best base for desktop widgets?
Can you say me your opinion about developing software ? In a general way...

...developing software ? It's the most painfull and frustrating thing i know ! PHP,HTML,Java,MySQL,CSS,ASP,.Net,and and and...endless codes, endless pain, endless error massages ! My advise: don't start with-out basic foundation and be willing to learn, to swear and to re-start again ! ;-)... That's my opinion !!!

:-) HaHaHaHa... that's the oil in the system, the tools to create, the key to all doors ! It's the Programm codes or language to use with any software to do what i do and you and anybody ealse, how to click on this page or keep the internet running like it is. Without these formats nothing will work, no e-mails, no google, no bill gates, no apple, no iPhone, no iPod....nothing ! And no widgets ! :-)

...by the way, when you working for a software company, you should know what PHP, MySQL and all that is !!! Didn't you ? I just found your postings with the same quations all over the net - www.widget-builder.com asking for $190 Dollars for what ????? To make an Widget from a Flash file ??? - Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha .......

Hm... fun. I know what is PHP, MySQL and others. How these languages are connected with flash and widgets from flash? What did you want to say?

well, to be honest, for $190 I prefer to put a bit more money & buy MDM Zinc, a much more powerful tool that not only helps you to build widgets but screensavers and other applications, has lots of support and has been around for years.
How is php-mysql or similar linked to flash widgets?
well, is only using a backend technology that you are able to do some widgets (like my add to google flash button), guestbooks, contact forms, counters, etc.
Anyway, I think is good that you have done a website like widget-builder as for sure there are people out there that would love to build a widget and don't have the skills; however the price is a bit too high...

Oh, lots of ads in this thread. I know that developing your own software is a very difficult task, expecially when you only have basic knowledge of HTML, pHP, ... I would go with some freeware if there is any available that suits your needs. Otherwise you'll have to purchase one but most of them are quite expensive.
