But before reading about it let us tell you why you shouldn't need it in most cases: Widgipedia hosts your widgets for free, for an unlimited time. This way you don't have to worry about managing your own hosting services or about server reliability. You upload your widget and it will simply be there until you decide to change that.

Now... there are cases when you are forced to use an external widget, such as a public widget, a widget with access restrictions or widgets that are dynamically generated. In this case, you will find in the upload box an option called "Specify external widget URL". Check this option and enter the URL of your own widget below. You will still be able to set up parameters as you would do for a widget hosted at Widgipedia.
