messageUsing web widgets
I'm new to the widget community so I guess Hello every! spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Now my question. I am making a website and I really want my members to have the ability to add widgets to personalize my page when they visit. So basically my site isn't dealing with widgets or anything like pageflakes, netvibes etc, but I just want my members to feel that my site is more customized to their liking.

Do I have to get a developer to create every single widget for my site so people can add and delete widgets they want on their front page or is their someway I can use a opensource widget.

I was told earlier that all widgets are developed in house, but I really don't see that being true because I see so many sites that allow you to submit your own widget, if I'm wrong does that mean that all those who submit their widget are just giving it freely to a site to use and profit off of???

Like I said I am really confused. I really don't want to spend $$ on a weather widget or a calendar widget. There has to be a place I can have the widgets on my site like igoogle or pageflakes.

Anyway, thanks in advance for the responses hopefully,
