I do hope you like this Steampunk Rotating Earth Globe Widget. This Konfabulator/ yahoo widget provides a simple rotating globe that can rotate at two speeds. The animation comes from thirty six medium resolution images, played one after the other, frame by frame giving a simulation of the rotating earth. Shown above layered on top my orrery widget, just making changes to that too so that it will incorporate the spinning earth function by default. This is Yahoo Widget version of the Steampunk Volume Widget for PCs and Macs that you could certainly use on your desktop. It is a lovely piece of eye-candy as well as being useful on your desktop. This is one of a small set of icons/widgets for your desktop, the others are a typical set of Victorian desktop acoutrements.
